Description

Trading Post, Kansas, located in Linn County, is said to be one of the oldest continuously occupied locations in the state.  A fort built there in 1842 was used during the Civil War, and the Civil War Battle of Marais des Cygnes was fought there. The site is also the location of the Marais des Cygnes Massacre.
