Originally spanning six acres in the 1860s, the park soon expanded to 35 acres, according to Franklin County Historical Society documents. Today, Forest Park spans nearly 51 acres in Ottawa's northwest corner, shaded by trees old and new, DJ Welsh, parks and cemetery superintendent for the City of Ottawa, said.  Sep 19, 2015
