Dixon Brothers vs. Major Montgomery Land Dispute
Thomas and James Dixon were farmers who were "relocated" when Ft. Riley's Major Montgomery, a Southerner, recharted the boundaries of the post to include their claims and the town of Pawnee. James Dixon's Farm, Military View, is now a National Historic Landmark:
